With this collection Daizy Shely wants to tell about her youth period in Israel and, in particular, the feelings regarding military service as a life stage of a woman. The keyword is the contrast - in terms of colors, materials, and shapes - that put together military details with a feminine style: black and white runs into a color palette made of vivid red, purple, and green. There is a mix of fabrics that gathers delicate organza with thick leather and macramè lace with rigid cotton twill. As a result, the silhouettes are a composition of a squared and bold style combined with delicate shapes that emphasize the existence of a young woman within a strict life context.

“The book is a catalyst for change, a museum of knowledge. Not one filled with masks and spears and feathers, but a place of learning”.
These are the words of Jimmy Nelson regarding Before They Pass Away, a book that depicts the fascinating world’s last tribes through the images of the British photographer.
Maybe, it is impossible to stop the world from changing, but those images can defiantly remind how beautiful the human world once was and the preciousness of life. So, the collection is driven by Daizy’s attempt to find her tribe, somewhere far, in another world. Inspiration comes from the last tribes, their different cultures, customs, and traditions through body paint and tropical flowers.
Prints are hand-drawn using bright colors on natural materials so to instill a feeling that puts together dreams and reality.

The subject that inspired the collection was Daizy’s grandmother, who passed away shortly before the start of her work. The loss of someone she felt very close with incited her to make that particular person alive through the concepts. Daizy romanticizes her grandmother identifying her as a mature rose because when it looks old, petals have scars, leaves crinkles, and colors are not fresh anymore: the flower seems to be more significant because it depicts the passage of time. A mixture of digital and hand-drawn print techniques made with watercolors on leather characterizes the collection. Also, the contrast between leather and mohair wool as the presence of geometric textures and drawings, reflect the personality and life experiences of Daizy’s grandmother.
